How it works:

When someone opens the mailbox, the motion sensor will send a signal to the X10 transceiver module. The transceiver then sends a signal to the X10 chime unit which will  sound a chime tone to let you know that your mailbox has been opened. Usually, we would expect at least two events each day – #1 the mailman puts in the mail, #2 you pick up the mail. Other than that, expect that there are intruders.

How to set it up:

Place the MS14A  X10 Eagle Eye Motion Sensor  inside of your mailbox.  Either place the motion detector on the door facing the inside of your mailbox or place the motion detector in the back of the mailbox facing the door.  You can screw the motion detector on using the screws provided with every motion detector or you can use double sided tape (not included) to stick the motion detector to your mailbox.

Plug your TM751 X10 Transceiver  into an electrical outlet closest to your mailbox.  Transceivers can receive signals up to 100 feet away. 

Plug your SC546A Remote Chime into an electrical outlet in any location in your house.  Ideally you want to choose a location that is centralized so you can hear it from any room in your house.
