When you want to control your X10 enables light switch you simply press the on/off or dim/bright switch on your controller and the X10 device responds. You can independently control up to 256 devices in your home. In order to do this a device is assigned a house and a unit code. If you want to control the WS467 Wall Switch in the bedroom than you would for example set the house and unit code to C3 than you would take the HR12A PalmPad Remote Control and set it to house code C and then press the 3 button either on or off.
