INSTEON SwitchLinc 3-Way Dimmer Kit

This kit is an easy way to control lights from two different switches, such as the switches located at the top and bottom of a staircase or on each end of a hallway. The best part is that the two INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmers (#2476D) come pre-configured and set up to communicate with each other, so once you install the SwitchLincs, there is no setup or programming required in order to control one light with these two switches.

The INSTEON SwitchLinc 3-Way Dimmer Kit replaces your existing mechanical wall switches with INSTEON-compatible wall dimmers. These dimmers install easily, attaching to the same wires that your existing wall switches used with the addition of the neutral wire. You won't need an electrician come out to install complicated wiring in order to create a virtual multi-way circuit. Both dimmers will be able to control the same light. Wall plates are sold separately.

Dim the Same Light from Either Switch

A convenient feature of the INSTEON SwitchLinc 3-Way Dimmer Kit is that you will be able to control the brightness level of the controlled light from either dimmer, a feature not found in many dimmers. Each dimmer also shows the light's current brightness level through each switch's built-in LED brightness bar. This is helpful when one of the dimmers is not in the same room as the controlled light.

More Information:

Remote-Controllable
One of the advantages of having INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmers is that you can link other INSTEON devices to control the wall switch dimmers remotely. How many times have you jumped into bed and forgotten to turn the hallway lights off? You now have the convenience of linking a bedside controller to turn off your hallway light after you get into bed.
Lighting Types
The dimmers are rated for up to 600 watts. If a larger load is needed, a INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmer (High Wattage) is available. If you have multiple dimmers in the same wall box, the 1000-watt unit may help with keeping the required minimum wattage rating. For info about de-rating, see the spec chart below for the heading: "Mounting." This dimmer switch can control incandescent bulbs, low-voltage halogen (e.g. track), and other low-voltage lights with magnetic or dimmable electronic transformers. If you need to control a fluorescent light fixture or a non-dimmable appliance, try the INSTEON SwitchLinc Relay (Non-Dimming) instead.
Network Reliability
To ensure network reliability 2 INSTEON Access Points are suggested in each home with INSTEON-compatible products. While a single Access Point will bridge INSTEON signals between radio frequency and powerline signals, two properly installed Access Points will also act as powerline signal repeaters, maximizing the reliability of your INSTEON network.
Certifications and Warranty
All INSTEON SwitchLinc products are safety approved. The factory for SmartLabs Design Products is ISO9001 certified. In order to meet the ISO 9001 standards, the entire factory underwent rigorous inspections of procedures and policies before being certified. The certification received was based on its dedication to high-quality management systems and strict adherence of quality control systems and guidelines. Because of this, SmartLabs stands behind the entire INSTEON SwitchLinc line of products with a full 2-year warranty.
